For swim teachers

Teach swimming this summer. Let parents find you.

Help children and adults gain confidence in the water. Run your own swim teaching business, or make it a summer gig. List yourself free, parents search CoachPlus for lessons near them, and your profile shows on the pools where you teach.

Two ways to teach

Teach where you already swim, travel to families, or do both.

They come to you

Teach at the pool you use: an aquatic centre lane, a school pool, or your own. Your profile shows on that pool's page.

You go to them

Teach in families' own pools. Set a travel fee, and parents choose "come to me" when they book.

What parents book

The lessons families look for, from a first splash to a confident length. Teach the ones that suit you.

  • A father and his toddler, forehead to forehead, in an outdoor pool

    Babies and toddlers

Water play with a parent in the pool, from about six months.

  • A young swimmer in a cap, seen from above, floating between two pool noodles

    Preschool water confidence

Blowing bubbles, floating and kicking, for ages three to five.

  • A swimmer from behind, kicking down a lane with a kickboard

    Learn to swim

School-age children learning to breathe, kick and swim their first lengths.

  • A swimmer mid-stroke doing freestyle down a lane

    Stroke technique

Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly for children who can already swim.

  • Three swimmers training side by side in an indoor lane pool

    Squad and fitness

Regular training for swimmers who want to get faster or fitter.

  • An adult swimmer in a cap and goggles practising in an indoor pool

    Adults

Learning from scratch, getting over a fear of water, or tidying up a stroke.

Where parents find you

On the pool's page

Pools, swim clubs and swim schools across New Zealand have their own pages on CoachPlus. Parents looking at a pool see the teachers who use it.

On swimming pages near them

Pages like "Swimming clubs and coaches in Auckland" are built for search. When a parent looks for lessons in their region, that is where they land.

In search

Parents type what they need, for example "swim lessons for my 5 year old in Howick", and go straight to teachers who fit.

A day of teaching

What the work looks like, wherever you teach.

  • A swim teacher in a red swimsuit setting out kickboards by the pool

    Setting up at the pool

  • A teacher with a clipboard crouched at the pool edge, talking with a swimmer at the wall

    One-on-one at the wall

  • A row of adult swimmers in caps sitting on the pool edge, ready for their class

    Running a class

How it works

  1. 1

    Create your profile

The pools you teach at or the areas you travel to, your times and your price. About 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Go live

We read it over, then your profile shows on the pools and areas you listed. Usually the same day.

  3. 3

    Take bookings

Parents book and pay online. Your share is released 24 hours after each lesson and Stripe pays it into your bank a few business days later.

Questions swim teachers ask

Do I need my own pool?

No. List the pools where you teach, or set a travel fee and teach in families' pools. You can do both.

Do I need a swim school or a club?

No. You can list yourself as an individual teacher. If you also teach for a club or a swim school, add those pools too.

Can I show my qualifications?

Yes. Add your qualifications and experience to your profile so parents can see them.

Can I bring families I already teach?

Yes. Your own clients book through your link at 2% per booking, with a $2 minimum. The 20% applies only to a new family's first booking through CoachPlus.

Is there a monthly fee?

No. There is no subscription and no setup fee. If nobody books, you pay nothing.

Summer bookings start now

Parents look for swim lessons before the holidays, and most of them just want their child confident in the water by Christmas. Set up your profile and be on the pools near them when they do.
