1. About CoachPlus
CoachPlus is operated by Coach Plus Limited (NZBN 9429053408150), a New Zealand registered company. By using coachplus.co.nz or any CoachPlus app, you agree to these terms.
2. Booking and payment
When you book a session, your card is authorised but not charged. It is charged closer to the session, around the time the coach’s free-cancellation window closes, so cancelling early usually costs you nothing. If the session does not go ahead through no fault of the coach, your card is not charged.
3. Coach fees and payouts
CoachPlus is free for coaches to join — there is no sign-up fee and no monthly fee. We charge commission only on bookings taken through the platform: 2% (minimum $2) on a repeat client’s booking, and 20% on a new client’s first booking with the coach through the platform, after which they’re a repeat client at 2% (minimum $2). Stripe card-processing fees (about 2.9% + 30c) are passed through to the coach at cost and never marked up. Coaches are paid out to their connected Stripe account, normally within about two business days of a session being completed. We may change our fees with at least 14 days’ notice to active coaches.
Clients we introduce. When CoachPlus passes a coach a lesson request or enquiry, that client’s bookings with the coach go through CoachPlus for 12 months from the introduction. This is how CoachPlus is paid for finding the client. If a coach takes an introduced client’s bookings outside CoachPlus in that time, the coach agrees to pay CoachPlus the new-client fee (20% of the first booking).
4. Cancellations
Each coach sets their own free-cancellation window — 24 hours before the session by default. Cancel outside that window and your card is not charged, or is fully refunded if it was already charged. Cancel inside the window and the session fee stands, as the coach is paid for their reserved time. If the coach cancels, you always receive a full refund.
5. Coach conduct
Coaches on CoachPlus must follow the Sport NZ Integrity Code and provide sessions as advertised. Coaches can choose to add a police check and first-aid certificate. The checks a coach holds are shown on their page, so you can see them before you book. Coaches who don't meet these standards are removed.
6. Liability
Sport involves physical risk. CoachPlus is a booking platform, not the coaching provider — coaches operate as independent professionals. By booking, you accept normal sporting risk and confirm any medical limitations to your coach in advance.
7. Account suspension
We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms, harass other users, or attempt to defraud the platform. We always email you the reason.
8. Disputes
If something goes wrong, email hello@coachplus.co.nz. We aim to resolve every dispute within 5 business days. If you remain dissatisfied, you may escalate to the Disputes Tribunal of New Zealand.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes are emailed to all active users at least 14 days before they take effect.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
